KACARANEWS.COM, JAKARTA – Kementerian Pertanian (Kementan) menjajaki kerjasama kolaborasi dengan Pengurus Besar Ikatan Dokter Indonesia (PB IDI) dalam pengembangan inovasi produk aromaterapi berbahan dasar tanaman eucalyptus. Kerjasama ini dilakukan untuk pengembangan penelitian menuju tahapan uji klinis kepada pasien yang terpapar virus.

Ketua IDI Daeng Muhammad Faqih, mengatakan bahwa riset yang dilakukan akan dilakukan secara terstruktur dengan memanfaatkan bahan-bahan alami yang dimiliki oleh Indonesia. Menurut dia, bukan tidak mungkin Indonesia mampu membuat sebuah temuan yang menjadi obat virus corona.

“Kerjasama yang akan kita lakukan dari hasil riset pertama di laboratorium mudah-mudahan akan menghasilkan perkembangan yang positif pada tahap uji klinis. Untuk itu kami akan mensupport terus apa yang sudah dilakukan oleh Kementan dan saya rasa ini adalah langkah yang besar bagi bangsa kita,” kata Daeng saat konferensi pers, Senin, 6 Juli 2020.

Menurut dia, apa yang dilakukan Kementan bukan hanya mencari jalan keluar untuk virus corona saja. Namun lebih dari itu upaya ini untuk mencari persoalan masalah kesehatan lainnya dengan memanfaatkan kekayaan sumber alam yang ada di Indonesia. Terlebih saat ini negara-negara di seluruh dunia tengah berjuang dalam mencari penawar virus corona.

“Mudah-mudahan ini langkah awal untuk menjawab semua keraguan atas apa yang kita sudah hasilkan meski sebatas uji laboratorium dan masih perlu uji lainnya,” ujar Fadjry.

Sebelumnya, Kementan sudah lebih dulu bekerjasama dengan fakultas kedokteran Universitas Hasanuddin dan fakultas kedokteran Universitas Indonesia dalam melakukan pengembangan penelitian dan riset. Dalam kerjasama ini kementam berencana akan mengkormesilkan produk imovasi melalui lisensor pihak swasta yang melisensi produk dari Kementan.
