KATACARA, MAKASSAR– Rektor Universitas Hasanuddin, Prof. Dr. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu, MA, menjelaskan program kerja sama dengan Australia pada webinar oleh ASEAN-Australia Education Dialogue (AAED). Webinar ini berlangsung mulai pukul 11.00 Wita secara virtual melalui aplikasi zoom meeting, Kamis (17/12).

AAED merupakan wadah diplomasi pendidikan yang bertujuan memperkuat hubungan antara ASEAN dan Australia melalui dialog. Wadah ini diharapkan dapat memperluas kerja sama melalui kemitraan dengan berbagai lembaga pendidikan pada kawasan ASEAN dan Australia.

Prof. Dwia mengawali penjelasannya tentang keterlibatan Unhas dalam penanganan pandemi Covid-19. Unhas membentuk tim Satuan Tugas yang aktif membantu pemerintah dan melakukan berbagai kegiatan untuk menekan laju penyebaran Covid-19. Selain itu, Prof. Dwia juga menyebutkan capaian kinerja Unhas ditengah pandemi yang tetap produktif menjalankan tugas dan fungsinya sebagai lembaga pendidikan tinggi.

“Unhas memiliki 16 fakultas dan Sekolah Pascasarjana yang didukung sumber daya manusia berkualitas. Pada level nasional, Unhas berada pada klaster satu perguruan tinggi, pada peringkat tujuh. Untuk pemeringkatan Asia University Ranking, Unhas berada di posisi 351 sebagai kampus terbaik,” jelas Prof Dwia.

Lebih lanjut, Prof Dwia menuturkan sebagai Unhas juga aktif bekerja sama dengan banyak mitra, baik berskala nasional maupun internasional. Termasuk juga dengan institusi-institusi dari Australia.

Kerja sama Unhas dan Australia antara lain terlihat pada keterlibatan Unhas dalam program PAIR (Partnership for Australia-Indonesia Research) yang berfokus mengembangkan jalur kereta api di Sulawesi Selatan. Kemitraan ini melibatkan banyak peneliti dari dua negara. Selain itu, kerja sama Unhas dengan Australia juga terlihat pada program RISE (Revitalising Informal Settlements and their Environments).

Usai pemaparan Prof. Dwia kemudian dilanjutkan dengan presentasi dari narasumber lain. Kegiatan berlangsung hingga pukul 13.00 Wita.(*/mir)
