KATACARA, JAKARTA, – Industri petrokimia memiliki peran sentral dalam menopang berbagai aktivitas industri lain dan mencukupi kebutuhan harian masyarakat. Produk-produk petrokimia umumnya digunakan sebagai bahan baku industri turunannya. Sebut saja plastik, serat sintetis, karet sintetis, pestisida, detergen, pelarut, pupuk, dan berbagai jenis obat maupun vitamin.

Pada Tahun 2020, pemerintah melalui Kementerian Perindustrian menyebutkan bahwa kebutuhan produk petrokimia hulu domestik Indonesia mencapai 6 juta ton. Potensi pasar Petrokimia dalam negeri, masih sangat besar untuk dapat memenuhi permintaan. Pemerintah menargetkan pada tahun 2025 mendatang, kapasitas produksi nasional bisa mencapai 70%.

Berlatar belakang kondisi riil tersebut, tim dari Universitas Pertamina yang menamai diri mereka ATHENA, menyusun proposal pengembangan proyek petrokimia. Melalui proposal ini, tim berhasil menyabet 2nd Runner Up dalam kategori Case Study Competition, di ajang Boreyes International Energy Fair 2021. Boreyes merupakan ajang internasional yang diselenggarakan oleh Society of Petroleum Engineers Padjadjaran University Student Chapter.

Ketua tim, Muhammad Athallah Naufal, mengungkapkan mereka mengusung solusi pengembangan integrated oil refineries atau kilang minyak terintegrasi. “Selain minimnya pasokan produk petrokimia, sejak COVID-19 melanda dunia, bisnis migas juga mulai mengalami penurunan permintaan. Sehingga, banyak bahan baku minyak mentah yang tidak terserap. Melalui pengembangan kilang minyak dengan model ini, kita bisa mengalokasikan over supply minyak mentah tersebut untuk meningkatkan kemandirian Indonesia dalam mengolah produk petrokimia,” jelasnya dalam wawancara daring, Kamis (22/4).

Ike Yulianis, anggota tim, menambahkan, “Solusi yang kami gagas sejalan dengan target PT Pertamina (Persero) untuk meningkatkan kapasitas produksi petrokimia menjadi 12 juta ton per tahun pada tahun 2027 mendatang. Melalui Refinery Development Master Plan (RDMP) di sejumlah kilang PT Pertamina (Persero) diantaranya di Kilang Balongan, Cilacap, Balikpapan, Plaju, dan Dumai serta pembangunan kilang baru di Tuban, Jawa Timur”.

Elizabeth Bella Ruth Septiana, anggota tim lainnya, mengatakan bahwa hadirnya mata kuliah Creative Problem Solving (CPS) dan Critical Thinking (CT) serta kegiatan kuliah pakar sangat membantu dalam menyusun solusi. “Melalui CPS dan CT, kami diajarkan untuk dapat menyelesaikan masalah dengan cara-cara yang out of the box dan menemukan ide-ide baru yang didasarkan pada analisa kritis. Selain itu, kuliah pakar ‘UPbringing’ yang menghadirkan para ahli di bidangnya, juga membantu kami memahami kondisi riil yang terjadi di industri saat ini,” ungkapnya.

Saat ini, kampus milik PT Pertamina (Persero) tersebut sedang membuka pendaftaran Seleksi Nilai Rapor untuk Tahun Akademik 2021/2022. Pendaftaran telah dibuka sejak tanggal 23 Maret hingga 30 April 2021 mendatang. Seleksi ini merupakan seleksi tanpa tes. Siswa-siswi dapat memilih empat program studi yang ada di Universitas Pertamina, disesuaikan dengan kelompok ujian dan latar belakang pendidikan SMA/sederajat yang tengah ditempuh. Seleksi Nilai Rapor dapat diikuti oleh siswa SMA/sederajat lulusan tahun 2020 dan 2021.

Bagi siswa SMA/sederajat lulusan tahun 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 dan 2021 bisa juga mendaftar melalui jalur Ujian Masuk (UM) Online (daring). Pendaftaran untuk UM Online telah dibuka sejak tanggal 15 Maret hingga 22 April 2021. Ujian akan dilaksanakan pada hari Sabtu, 24 April 2021 secara daring (online).
