KATACARA, JAKARTA– Tingkat literasi Indonesia, ternyata masih tertinggal dibanding negara lain. Survey Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) mengungkap, Indonesia bercokol di posisi 62 dari 70 negara. Senada dengan PISA, riset Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) menemukan minat baca masyarakat Indonesia berada di urutan bawah, posisi ke-60 dari 61 negara.

Salah satu biang kerok minimnya minat baca, adalah karena seretnya akses baca buku anak di Indonesia. Di Jakarta Selatan misalnya, menurut Kepala Suku Dinas Pendidikan Wilayah II Jakarta Selatan, H. Muh. Roji, rendahnya angka literasi di Jakarta Selatan salah satunya disebabkan oleh minimnya akses anak usia belajar terhadap buku pelajaran.

Untuk meningkatkan kepedulian terhadap akses buku anak, sekaligus memperingati Hari Pahlawan Nasional, Universitas Pertamina (UP) menggelar kegiatan Hero Run UP Virtual Run 2020. Lewat program ini, masyarakat diajak menyumbang buku melalui kegiatan berlari.

“Tujuan utama Hero Run UP, adalah memberikan bantuan buku pelajaran kepada anak-anak sekolah di wilayah Jakarta Selatan. Melalui kegiatan virtual run, para peserta Hero Run UP otomatis menyumbang buku untuk setiap kilometer yang ditempuh pelari,” ujar Rektor UP, Prof. Akhmaloka, Ph.D dalam sambutan peluncuran Hero Run UP Virtual Run 2020, Selasa, 10/11.

Setiap kilometer yang ditempuh para peserta Hero Run UP, akan dikoversi menjadi dana seribu rupiah yang akan digunakan untuk membeli buku pelajaran. Pendaftaran Hero Run UP Virtual Run 2020 telah dimulai sejak tanggal 26 Oktober hingga 22 November 2020 mendatang melalui tautan https://www.herorunup.com/. Sedangkan periode lari dimulai dari tanggal 10 November hingga 30 November 2020. Peserta bisa memilih jarak tempuh lari sejauh 5 km, 15 km dan 30 km.

“Apalagi dalam kondisi pandemi ini, olah raga terbukti meningkatkan imunitas tubuh. Jadi sambil sehat, para pelari bisa jadi pahlawan pendidikan buat anak-anak yang membutuhkan,” sambung Akhmaloka.

“Kami berterima kasih kepada Universitas Pertamina dan para pelari, yang memberikan perhatian bagi pendidikan. Semoga melalui program Hero Run UP, bisa terkumpul buku-buku untuk anak-anak sekolah di Jakarta Selatan,” ucap H. Muh. Roji.

Program Hero Run UP merupakan rangkaian program Temani Aku Untuk Belajar besutan UP yang telah berjalan selama beberapa tahun terakhir. Ini merupakan program pendampingan belajar yang dilakukan secara sukarela oleh dosen, staf dan mahasiswa Universitas Pertamina kepada anak-anak kurang mampu di wilayah Jakarta Selatan sebagai bentuk pengabdian kepada masyarakat.***
