KATACARA, JAKARTA, – Kementerian Ketenagakerjaan mencatat, akibat pandemi sebanyak 17,8 persen perusahaan melakukan Pemutusan Hubungan Kerja (PHK). 25,6 persen perusahaan merumahkan pekerjanya, dan 10 persen perusahaan melakukan keduanya.

Gelombang PHK akibat pandemi, pada gilirannya berdampak pada anak-anak. Salah satunya adalah mahasiswa. Per-September 2020, Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Kemendikbud) menyebutkan angka putus kuliah di masa pandemi meningkat hampir mencapai 50 persen. Khususnya pada mahasiswa di perguruan tinggi swasta (PTS).

Vini Lili Natalia, Mahasiswi Program Studi Hubungan Internasional Universitas Pertamina Angkatan 2018 misalnya, membagikan ceritanya tentang bagaimana ia hampir kehilangan kesempatan menuntaskan kuliah akibat pandemi. “Ketika orang tua bilang usahanya merugi dan hampir gulung tikar akibat pandemi, saya sempat putus asa. Bagaimana akan melanjutkan pendidikan, padahal saya sudah berada di tingkat akhir,” ungkapnya dalam wawancara daring, Jumat (30/4).

Beruntung, Vini tak pernah melewatkan informasi penting dari kampus. “Waktu itu, baca pengumuman di grup ada Beasiswa Keringanan SPP Terdampak Pandemi COVID-19. Saya langsung daftar. Puji syukur bisa mendapat potongan biaya SPP selama satu tahun. Lega banget rasanya,” sambungnya.

Hal serupa dirasakan oleh Olivia, Mahasiswi Program Studi Teknik Mesin Angkatan 2019. “Waktu dapat kabar orang tua kena PHK, saya langsung menghubungi pihak kampus dan diarahkan daftar beasiswa ini. Puji syukur, pengajuannya diterima. Syaratnya juga mudah. Cukup mengisi formulir, melampirkan copy identitas dan surat keterangan PHK dari perusahaan orang tua aja,” imbuhnya.

“Semua mahasiswa yang orang tua atau penanggung biaya kuliahnya terdampak COVID-19 boleh mengajukan beasiswa ini. Untuk tahun Akademik 2020/2021, total beasiswa potongan SPP bagi mahasiswa terdampak COVID-19 yang kami berikan, nilainya mencapai lebih dari 1,6 miliar rupiah,” ujar Budi W. Soetjipto, Ph.D., Wakil Rektor Bidang Akademik dan Kemahasiswaan Universitas Pertamina.

Beasiswa ini adalah satu dari sekian banyak beasiswa yang tersedia di Universitas Pertamina. Jauh sebelum pandemi, para mahasiswa yang di tengah perkuliahan mengalami kesulitan pembayaran SPP dapat mengajukan dua jenis beasiswa berbeda. Yakni Beasiswa Unggulan Semester dan Beasiswa Studi Berkelanjutan.

“Selama pandemi, beasiswa ini akan selalu dibuka. Untuk tahun 2021, pengajuan beasiswa diperkirakan dimulai pada Juli mendatang. Pemotongan SPP akan diberikan untuk Tahun Ajaran baru 2021/2022, yang perkuliahannya dimulai Agustus 2021,” lanjut Budi.

Bagi siswa siswi SMA yang ingin kuliah di kampus milik Pertamina dan mendapat beasiswa, saat ini tengah dibuka Seleksi Nilai Rapor untuk Tahun Akademik 2021/2022. Seleksi ini merupakan seleksi tanpa tes. Informasi lengkap pendaftaran dapat diakses di laman https://universitaspertamina.ac.id/pendaftaran
