KATACARA, JAKARTA, – World Research Institute (WRI) menyebutkan Indonesia berada di rangking ke delapan dari sepuluh negara penyumbang emisi Gas Rumah Kaca (GRK) terbesar di dunia. Untuk menurunkan emisi GRK, PT Pertamina (Persero) menyusun Roadmap Dekarbonisasi, diantaranya dengan penerapan Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage and Enhanced Gas Recovery (CCUS/EGR) pada proyek lapangan Gundih di Cepu, Jawa Tengah.
Kendati memberikan segudang manfaat, keterbatasan pengetahuan masyarakat akan CCUS, berpotensi menghambat implementasi proyek. Dibutuhkan strategi untuk melibatkan seluruh pemangku kepentingan agar penerapan teknologi ramah lingkungan CCUS Gundih dapat berjalan sesuai target. “Tim lalu mengidentifikasi karakteristik sikap para pemangku kepentingan terhadap proyek, apakah berupa dukungan atau penolakan. Kemudian, tim memetakan dan merumuskan strategi jenis keterlibatan para pemangku kepentingan dalam proyek,” ungkap Dr. Farah Mulyasari, S.T., M.Sc, Plt. Dekan Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis & Fakultas Komunikasi dan Diplomasi Universitas Pertamina, sekaligus ketua tim, dalam wawancara daring, Sabtu (17/07).
Farah melanjutkan, tim menyadari adanya perbedaan faktor pembentuk opini publik pada masing-masing kelompok pemangku kepentingan. “Oleh karenanya, tim berusaha untuk menganalisa tingkat pengetahuan atau pemahaman masing-masing kelompok terhadap isu lingkungan. Serta memahami harapan dan motivasi masing-masing kelompok terhadap hasil proyek yang tentunya berbeda,” pungkas Farah.
Menurut Farah, strategi komunikasi yang kemudian dipilih berdasarkan temuan di lapangan di antaranya dengan melibatkan key opinion leader dalam penyampaian informasi kepada masyarakat. “Edukasi kepada masyarakat juga dilakukan dengan teknik story-telling melalui pedekatan yang humanis. Misalnya menceritakan bagaimana perubahan iklim dan pemanasan global akibat kenaikan emisi CO2 sebagai komponen utama GRK dapat merusak lingkungan. Kami juga turut serta melibatkan peran media lokal untuk mempromosikan proyek CCUS Gundih yang dapat menciptakan lapangan kerja di wilayah proyek,” lanjut Farah.
Dengan turut serta melibatkan peran seluruh pemangku kepentingan, Farah dan tim berharap proyek CCUS Gundih dapat memberikan manfaat yang signifikan terhadap upaya mitigasi pemanasan global dan memberikan manfaat keekonomian bagi negara dan pelaku bisnis di sektor energi. “Mudah-mudahan strategi serupa dapat menjadi inspirasi bagi kawan-kawan peneliti lain untuk tidak melupakan peran serta publik dalam setiap proyek penelitian yang dilakukan,” ujarnya.
Dalam pelaksanaannya, proyek ini juga turut serta melibatkan peran mahasiswa. Di Universitas Pertamina (UP), keterlibatan mahasiswa ditemui hampir di seluruh proyek penelitian dosen. Tujuannya, untuk melatih para mahasiswa menyelesaikan permasalahan riil di industri. Selain membiasakan mahasiswa pada metode project based learning semacam ini, UP juga menghadirkan kuliah pakar industri, kunjungan rutin ke industri, dan berbagai program magang yang dapat diikuti mahasiswa untuk menyiapkan mereka terjun ke dunia kerja.
