KATACARA, MAKASSAR – Menteri Pertanian (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo menghadiri puncak peringatan dies natalis Fakultas Hukum Universitas Hassanudin (Unhas) Makasar, Rabu, 17 Maret 2021. Di sana, Mentan berbicara pentingnya pengembangan pengetahuan ilmu hukum untuk menata kehidupan yang lebih baik.

Menurut Mentan, hukum sebagai panglima tertinggi harus dihadirkan secara terukur serta memiliki nilai yang berkeadilan. Terutama dalam mengakselerasi kegiatan ekonomi.

“Kalau bicara hukum berarti kita juga bicara ekonomi, juga pangan. Sebab sebuah negara itu bisa baik karena ditentukan oleh 3 hal. Diantaranya hadir pemerintahan yang adil, hadir akselerasi ekonomi dan hadir negara berkeadilan. Dari ketiganya, yang tidak boleh diabaikan itu adalah perut rakyat,” katanya.

Menurut Mentan, pangan dan hukum adalah 2 unsur yang harus berjalan beriringan, dengan mengedepankan aspek kehidupan berkeadilan. Kedua unsur tersebut juga menjadi perintah penting yang sudah tertuang dalam kitab suci.

“Kau baru bisa jadi pemimpin yang baik kalau rakyatmu tidak ada yang kelaparan. Itulah perintah tuhan. Oleh karena itu kita berharap Unhas menjadi salah satu pilar hukum nasional yang membawa bangsa ini pada kemakmuran,” katanya.

Pelaksana Tugas (Plt) Gubernur Sulawesi Selatan, Andi Sudirman Sulaiman mengatakan bahwa Fakultas Hukum Universitas Hassanudin merupakan kampus penting yang ada di Indonesia. Kampus ini merupakan tempat pendidikan lintas generasi yang telah menghasilakan alumni-alumni terbaik dari Sabang sampai Merauke.

“Alumni Unhas di fakultas hukum ini bisa jadi apa saja. Bisa Jadi Gubernur, Walikota, Anggota DPR bahkan Menteri Pertanian. Dan Alhamdulilah mereka semua berkomitmen memajukan bangsa dan Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan. Nah sekarang ada menteri dari Sulsel dan itu harus kita suport,” katanya.

Rektor Universitas Hassanudin, Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu, menyampaikan terimakasih atas dukungan Menteri Pertanian dan jajaran Pemprov Sulaweau Selatan atas kemajuan fakultas hukum Unhas, sehingga mampu berbicara banyak di ranah nasiinal dan internasional.
