KATACARA, MAKASSAR–Fakultas Kehutanan (FHut) Universitas Hasanuddin menyelenggarakan  Penerimaan dan Pengembangan Karakter Mahasiswa Baru (P2KMB) dengan mengusung tema “Membangun Karakter Rimbawan yang Cerdas, Tangguh dan Kompetitif melalui Merdeka Belajar untuk mendorong Kebangkitan Sektor Kehutanan Menuju Indonesia Maju”.

Kegiatan pembukaan berlangsung pukul 08.30 Wita secara daring melalui aplikasi zoom meeting, Selasa (10/08).

Ketua panitia Dr. Andi Sri Rahayu Diza Lestari A.,S.Hut., M.Si., dalam laporannya menjelaskan bahwa mahasiswa baru FHut Unhas untuk tahun ini sebanyak 292 orang yang terdiri dari 206 mahasiswa Prodi Kehutanan, 52 orang Prodi Rekayasa Kehutanan dan 32 orang mahasiswa Prodi Konservasi Hutan.

“Kegiatan P2KMB akan berlangsung selama dua hari, hari pertama membahas pengenalan Fakultas Kehutanan Unhas dan hari kedua membahas terkait pengenalan Program Studi Fakultas Kehutanan Unhas,” jelas Andi Rahayu

Pada kesempatan yang sama, Dekan Fakultas Kehutanan Unhas Dr. A. Mujetahid, S.Hut., MP.,  menyampaikan para mahasiswa baru patut berbangga karena berhasil lulus dan diterima pada Fakultas Kehutanan Unhas, dengan mengalahkan sekitar 80 persen yang ikut berkompetisi melalui berbagai jalur penerimaan secara ketat.

“Saya berharap mahasiswa baru bisa mengikuti rangkaian kegiatan P2KMB dengan baik. Dapat mengetahui gambaran prospek Fakultas Kehutanan Unhas setelah lulus nantinya dan meyakinkan bahwa prospek Fakultas Kehutanan Unhas cukup baik,” jelas Mujetahid.

Mujetahid juga menjelaskan mengenai kualitas prodi yang telah terakreditasi A seperti Prodi Kehutanan Unhas. Sementara untuk Prodi Rekayasa Kehutanan dan Prodi Konservasi Hutan segera menyusul. Banyak prestasi yang telah diraih oleh dosen maupun mahasiswa, salah-satunya adalah Jurnal Forest and Society telah terindeks Q1, jurnal dengan peringkat terbaik 2 Asia dan 35 terbaik dunia.

Setelah pembukaan secara resmi, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pemaparan materi dari para narasumber yang hadir.

Ketua Umum Asosiasi Pengusahaan Hutan Indonesia (APHI) Prof. Dr. Ir. Indroyono, M.Sc., sebagai salah satu pemateri memberikan gambaran terkait “Multi Usaha Kehutanan Untuk Mendorong Kebangkitan Sektor Kehutanan Menuju Indonesia Emas 2045”.

Ada beberapa konfigurasi bisnis baru kehutanan melalui multi usaha kehutanan yaitu industri berbasis hasil hutan kayu, hasil hutan kayu dan bioprospecting, agroforestry/pangan, jasa lingkungan, energi biomassa dan energi terbarukan.
