KATACARA, BOGOR,- Ketua Umum Perpadi Sutarto Alimoeso meminta kebijakan impor perlu kehati-hatian. Berdasarkan laporan dari anggota penggilingan padi yang ada di lapangan saat ini justru harga gabah dan beras di daerah turun sejalan dengan sekarang ini sedang panen raya. “Berdasarkan data-data kan 2 bulan ke depan ini ada panen raya yang akan mencapai lebih dari 14 juta ton selama Januari April ini. Nah itu berarti akan ada surplus kira-kira sekitar 4 juta ton dalam 2 bulan kedepan,” ujarnya saat diwawancara di Bogor hari Minggu (7/3).

Menurut Sutarto kondisi ini menyebabkan harga beras dan gabah di lapangan turun, di lain pihak kemampuan pasar tentunya terbatas. Ia berharap pemerintah justru melakukan penyerapan gabah dan beras yang sekarang ini sedang banyak-banyaknya sehingga pasarnya terjamin. “Begitu pasarnya terjamin tentunya harga akan dapat tidak tertekan jadi agar dapat meningkat supaya tidak jatuh di bawah HPP,” sebutnya.

“Itulah harapan dari teman-teman di lapangan sehingga nanti akhirnya tentunya pemerintah akan memiliki cadangan pangan yang cukup yang atas dasar hasil dari produksi dalam negeri. Dengan demikian harapan kami semua tentunya kita tidak perlu impor lagi jadi tentunya ada hubungannya dengan situasi sekarang,” lanjutnya lagi.

Kasus-kasus tertentu memang harga sudah di bawah Rp 4.000,-, dampaknya petani yang tidak menikmati hasil. Sebenarnya peluang tahun ini sangat bagus karena waktu tanamnya sudah bisa dipercepat sehingga panen raya Maret-April. “Nah ini untuk tanam kedua bisa lebih cepat sehingga berprospek menaikkan angka produksi nasional,” tambahnya.

Sutarto menyarankan pemerintah mempertimbangkan tiga hal yaitu pertama perkiraan produksi, yang kedua stok, dan yang ketiga harga. “Mungkin hari ini belum kita berbicara mengenai impor tetapi justru yang penting adalah bagaimana menyelamatkan harga di tingkat petani. Itu justru yang lebih penting,” pungkas Sutarto.
