Agus Ali Nurdin misalnya, petani milenial yang pernah ikut magang Kementan di Jepang ini menceritakan bahwa penghasilnya dari usaha tani bisa mencapai Rp 500 juta per bulan. Bahkan, kata dia, saat ini hasil sayurannya mampu disuplai ke berbagai outlet, mall dan restoran Jepang yang ada di Jakarta.

Menurut Agus, anak muda harus belajar memanfaatkan waktunya sendiri untuk sesuatu yang lebih produktif. Anak muda harus mampu menjadi inisiator perubahan bangsa yang lenih baik. Karena itu, ia berharap mereka mampu memanfaatkan berbagai fasilitas dan menyerap program pemerintah yang berkaitan dengan pertanian.
“Saya sudah membuktikan bahwa binaan Kementan bisa produktif dan inovatif dalam memajukan sektor pertanian,” katanya.
Sementara itu, seorang petani milenial lainnya yang mengembangkan beras organik pringkasap, Dedi Mulyadi menyampaikan bahwa kunci menjadi seorang petani sukses adalah keberan dalam berinovasi. Jika keberanian sudah tertanam dalam diri, maka bukan tidak mungkin Indonesia memiliki konglomerat muda yang berasal dari sektor pertanian.
“Selain berinovasi kita juga tidak boleh sendirian. Sebagai petani kita perlu tergabung dalam kelompok tani untuk menambah pengetahuan,” katanya.
Perlu diketahui, usaha Dedi sebagai petani mampu mengantongi omzet bersih hingga Rp 100 juta per bulan.
Sementara itu, meski usahanya baru seumur jagung, peternak telor ayam kampung, Pradizzia Triane Intan mengaku sangat termotivasi dengan pengusaha mida lainya yang sukses mengembangkan usaha ternak.
“Sebagai alumni dari Polbangtan Bogor saya ingin memanfaatkan ilmu yang saya dapat ketika di Polbangtan. Saya berharap bisa memberikan lapangan pekerjaan nantinya,” katanya.
Terkait hal itu, Kepala Biro Humas dan Informasi Publik Kementan, Kuntoro Boga Andri menyampaikan bahwa regenerasi petani merupakan kunci utama dalam menjaga ketahanan pangan nasional. Oleh karena itu, Kuntoro beharap petani milenial dapat menjadi inspiratif bagi seluruh anak muda Indonesia.
“Kita semua bisa menjadi pahlawan pangan. Dan saya kira dengan menjadi petani milenial kita bisa membantu ketahan pangan,” tutupnya.
Kementan: UU Ciptaker Memiliki Tujuan Strategis Dalam Kesejahteraan Petani
Kepala Pusat Perlindungan Varietas Tanaman dan Perizinan Pertanian Kementan, Prof. Erizal Jamal menjelaskan bahwa Omnibus Law UU Cipta Kerja klaster pertanian memiliki kepentingan strategis dalam mensejahterakan petani. Hal ini terlihat dari adanya pembukaan investasi dan kemudahan ijin usaha yang lebih tersisitem.
Menurut Erizal, subtansi umum dalam UU ini adalah mempermudah aturan lama menjadi aturan baru yang bisa diakses oleh semua pihak, termasuk para petani yang ingin memulai usaha kecil dan menengah.
“Jadi regulasi yang tadinya tumpang tindih sudah disederhanakan. Perijinan yang rumit juga sudah dipermudahkan. Kenapa? karena kewenangan di daerah baik kota maupun kabupaten sudah masuk satu sistem di pemerintah pusat,” katanya.
Erizal mengatakan, UU Cipta kerja bahkan mengatur konsekuensi kebijakan impor yang harus berorientasikan pada kepentingan petani.
“Ketentuan impor di pasal 14 harus memperhatikan kepentingan petani. Kan sejauh ini seolah-olah kita dianggap berpihak pada impor,” katanya.
Padahl, kata dia, UU ini sudah sejalan dengan visi Presiden Jokowi, yakni membuka akses lapangan kerja seluas-luasnya bagi masyarakat Indonesia.
“Kalau kita liat 5 visi Presiden Jokowi, diantaranya adalah Indonesia akan membuka diri untuk investasi dalam upaya membuka lapangan kerja secara luas,” katanya.
Sebelumnya, Omnibus Law UU Cipta Kerja klaster pertanian sempat menimbulkan polemik di kalangan pengamat karena dianggap berpotensi memperluas impor pangan. Padahal, hingga saat ini prioritas utama dalam memenuhi kebutuhan pangan adalah produksi dalam negeri yang sejalan dengan rumusan UU Pangan Pasal 3.
Dalam pasal tersebut disebutkan bahwa, pemenuhan kebutuhan pangan berdasarkan kedaulatan pangan, kemandirian pangan, dan ketahanan pangan. Dengan basis itu maka pemenuhan kebutuhan pangan dalam negeri tetap mengutamakan produksi dalam negeri.
Komitmen Tingkatkan Produksi Kopi, Kementan Terus Kembangkan Inovasi
Asep Sukarna, salah satu petani kopi di Kabupaten Bandung Barat mengatakan penyediaan bibit unggul kopi seyogyanya memperhatikan kesesuaian dengan karakter daerah masing-masing.
“Jangan sampai bibit kopi yang difasilitasi oleh pemerintah tidak sesuai sehingga tujuan peningkatan produksi tidak tercapai,” kata Asep saat dihubungi, Sabtu (24/10).
Kepala Balai Penelitian Tanaman Industri dan Penyegar (Balittri) Kementerian Pertanian, Tri Joko Santoso mengakui banyak tanaman kopi yang sudah tua sehingga harus dilakukan peremajaan.
“Peremajaan kopi membutuhkan bibit unggul dan diperlukan biaya yang tak sedikit,” ungkap Joko.
Untuk diketahui, 2-3 tahun ke depan konsumsi kopi dunia menurut Joko akan mengalami peningkatan 2-5%.
“Saat ini konsumsi kopi di dunia mulai meningkat, maka di tingkat global akan terjadi defisit kopi. Hal tersebut terjadi karena budidaya kopi di tingkat petani atau korporasi banyak mengalami pelbagai tantangan, salah satunya adalah alih fungsi lahan kopi menjadi lahan sawit seperti yang terjadi di Sumatera,” kata Joko.
Menurutnya, pengelolaan budidaya kopi ke depan harus lebih inovatif dengan mengembangkan korporasi dari hulu hingga hilir.
Konsep korporasi petani selalu digaungkan oleh Menteri Pertanian Syahrul Yasin Limpo. Menurutnya, korporasi petani akan meningkatkan nilai tambah, daya saing, mengembangkan produk turunan dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan dalam menghadirkan pertanian yang maju, mandiri dan modern.
Komoditas kopi menurur Direktur Jenderal Perkebunan Kementan, Kasdi Subagyono merupakan salah satu dari tujuh komoditas perkebunan yang akan ditingkatkan produksi dan produktivitasnya sepanjang tahun 2020.
“Kami terus mendorong petani dan kelompok tani menjaga konsistensi kualitas produk kopi yang dikembangkannya dengan tetap menjalankan prinsip budidaya kopi berkelanjutan lingkungan dalam penanaman sampai panen kopi, dan pasca panen,” kata Kasdi.

Hal tersebut menjadi penting karena Mentan SYL dalam berbagai kesempatan menyampaikan bahwa kopi Indonesia memiliki tempat yang spesial bagi para penikmat kopi di pasar internasional.
“Kopi jenis Arabika kita memiliki memiliki cita rasa yang khas. Ini keunggulan yang harus dijaga dan terus kita promosikan,” ungkapnya.
Menyoal keterbatasan lahan kopi yang semakin terbatas, Asep yang juga tergabung dalam Asosiasi Petani Kopi (Apeki) Bandung Barat menyampaikan sarannya untuk mengoptimalkan lahan melalui kerja sama, sinergi lintas sektoral perihal Perhutanan Sosial menyangkut perijinan menggunakan lahan milik Pemerintah seperti lahan yang dikelola Perhutani dan PTPN.
