KATACARA, MAKASSAR– Universitas Hasanuddin dan Shanghai Ocean University (SHOU) membahas rencana kerja sama dalam bidang pertanian, kehutanan, kedokteran, farmasi, perikanan, peternakan, dan keteknikan. Rencana ini dibahas dalam konferensi jarak jauh antara Unhas dan delegasi SHOU, yang berlangsung mulai pukul 13.00 Wita, Sabtu (12/12).

SHOU merupakan salah satu perguruan tinggi yang maju di China, berdiri sejak tahun 1912. Kampus yang terletak di tepi Sungai Huangpu, Shanghai ini, dikenal memiliki keunggulan dalam bidang industri, akuakultur, teknologi pertanian, ekonomi kelautan, hukum maritim, dan menyelenggarakan pula pembelajaran multi disiplin.

Hadir dalam pertemuan Rektor Unhas Prof. Dr. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu, MA., beserta jajaran, beberapa dekan lingkup Unhas.

Adapun pihak SHOU, dihadiri oleh Zheng Yuanbao (Chairman of the People’s Electric Appliance Group of China), Zhang Bianbian (Wakil Direktur Institut Penelitian Perikanan Laut China Timur), He Jianzhang (Direktur Eksekutif Fujian Zhangpu Fengsheng Biotechnology Co., Ltd) dan beberapa mitra China lainnya.

Zheng Yuanbao menyampaikan bahwa kerja sama Unhas dan SHOU dapat menjadi representasi hubungan baik Indonesia dan China yang telah berlangsung baik selama ini. Masing-masing pihak dapat mengidentifikasi keunggulan yang dimiliki untuk menjadi bidang kerja sama yang saling memberi manfaat.

Sementara itu, Rektor Unhas Prof. Dwia Aries Tina mengapresiasi kemajuan dan pengembangan teknologi industri yang dihasilkan SHOU. Pada saat yang sama, Unhas juga kini sedang gencar mengembangkan hilirisasi hasil riset dan inovasi, yang sangat membutuhkan keterlibatan sektor industri. Kerja sama ini diharapkan dapat memberi inspirasi untuk mendukung hilirisasi tersebut.

“Unhas dan Shanghai Ocean University memiliki kesamaan dalam beberapa bidang, yang dapat saling dipertukarkan melalui kerja sama yang baik. Dalam kaitannya dengan implementasi bagi masyarakat, Unhas memiliki hubungan baik dengan pemerintah daerah, dimana hal ini merupakan potensi yang nantinya dapat dimanfaatkan,” kata Prof. Dwia.

Dalam pertemuan yang berlangsung jarak jauh ini, masing-masing pihak menyampaikan peluang-peluang bidang kerja sama yang dapat dilakukan oleh kedua pihak. Beberapa peluang dari pihak Unhas antara lain dari sektor farmasi yang terkait dengan industri kosmetik yang memanfaatkan bahan alami, seperti rumput laut, yang aman digunakan.

Untuk sektor kehutanan, Unhas menawarkan produk inovasi berupa palm sugar, yang bahan bakunya berasal dari kelompok masyarakat dampingan Unhas. Selain memiliki aspek pengembangan industri, produk ini juga mendorong pemberdayaan masyarakat.

Sementara dari sektor kelautan dan perikanan, Unhas memiliki dukungan sarana dan prasarana yang memadai, seperti marine station di Pulau Barang Lompo. Selain dimanfaatkan sebagai laboratorium lapangan, sarana ini menjadi tempat penelitian untuk budidaya dan penangkaran biota laun, seperti udang, kepiting, dan lainnya.

Pertemuan antara Unhas dan SHOU selanjutnya membahas beberapa usulan dan rencana, berakhir hingga pukul 17.00 Wita.(*/mir)
