KATACARA, JAKARTA, – Keberadaan Usaha Mikro, Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) memiliki peluang dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan ekonomi di Indonesia. Kementerian Perekonomian menyebutkan, kontribusi UMKM pada tahun 2020 terhadap Produk Domestik Bruto (PDB) Indonesia ditaksir mencapai Rp 8.573 triliun. UMKM juga dinilai mampu melakukan penyerapan tenaga kerja hingga 97 persen, atau sebanyak 117 juta pekerja.

Namun, ternyata UMKM di Indonesia masih banyak yang belum naik kelas. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari angka ekspor nonmigas Indonesia, terutama produk UMKM, yang masih cukup rendah yakni sebesar 14,37 persen. Sementara itu, dari total 64,19 juta UMKM di Indonesia, baru 16 persen saja yang memasarkan produknya di e-commerce.

“Sebagai salah satu bentuk Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) sekaligus dukungan terhadap program pemerintah untuk penguatan UMKM, Universitas Pertamina (UP) melakukan pembinaan usaha Kerupuk Mlarat khas Cirebon. Kegiatan pendampingan usaha ini sudah dilakukan sejak tahun 2019,” ungkap ketua tim PkM sekaligus ketua Program Studi Teknik Logistik Universitas Pertamina, Dr. Eng. Iwan Soekarno, dalam wawancara daring, Kamis (24/06).

Iwan melanjutkan, ada beberapa aspek pengembangan usaha yang dilakukan. Diantaranya: optimasi proses produksi, perbaikan pengemasan, pengembangan jalur distribusi dari pengrajin yang ada di desa ke kota, strategi pemasaran, serta melakukan pengenalan dan pelatihan teknologi terkini dalam proses pengembangan usaha. Selain itu, tim juga memberikan pelatihan agar produk bisa dipasarkan di marketplace, membantu para pengusaha menjalin kerja sama dengan retailer, dan menjembatani kemitraan dengan dinas terkait.

Septianinda Purnamasari, alumni yang kala itu masih menjadi mahasiswi di Universitas Pertamina, mengaku sangat senang bisa terlibat dalam proyek pemberdayaan masyarakat tersebut. “Melalui perkuliahan di kelas, saya mengetahui cara melakukan survey dan analisa. Namun, ketika terjun ke lapangan secara langsung, ternyata melakukan survey dan analisa tidak semudah yang dipelajari. Pengalaman ini sangat membantu saya untuk mempersiapkan diri memasuki dunia kerja,” sambungnya.

Pendampingan pengembangan UMKM yang dilakukan oleh Iwan dan tim, telah membantu meningkatkan nilai jual Kerupuk Mlarat milik beberapa pengusaha kecil di desa Setu Kulon, Cirebon. “Kerja sama ini diharapkan dapat terus terjalin, sehingga UP dapat memberikan sumbangsih yang lebih kepada masyarakat dan lingkungan,” ujar Iwan.

Di Universitas Pertamina (UP), mahasiswa dibiasakan berinovasi dan memupuk jiwa kewirausahaan sejak dini. Selain keterlibatan dalam proyek penelitian semacam ini, mahasiswa yang memiliki UMKM juga berkesempatan mendapat pembinaan dan pendanaan usaha melalui kegiatan inkubasi bisnis. Moh. Yazid, mahasiswa program studi Manajemen, adalah satu dari sekian banyak mahasiswa UP yang mendapat bantuan pengembangan usaha.

“Meskipun di masa pandemi, usaha kerupuk ‘Bon Chips’ kami bisa meraup profit hingga mencapai hampir lima juta rupiah. Dukungan kampus sangat berarti bagi kami. Kami juga senantiasa dilibatkan dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan makanan ringan di lingkungan kampus, misalnya pada saat pemberian hampers idulfitri untuk para pegawai kemarin,” pungkas Yazid.

Bagi siswa siswi SMA yang ingin berkuliah di kampus besutan PT Pertamina (Persero) tersebut, saat ini tengah dibuka Seleksi Nilai Rapor dan Seleksi Nilai UTBK untuk Tahun Akademik 2021/2022.
