Inovasi Hidroponik Masyarakat Pesisir Antarkan Unhas Raih Medali Perak di I2ASPO

KATACARA, MAKASSAR– Delegasi Universitas Hasanuddin yang tergabung dalam Forum Studi Ilmiah (Fosil) Fakultas Peternakan berhasil meraih medali perak untuk kategori Environment dalam ajang Indonesia International Applied Science Project Olympiad (I2ASPO). Pengumuman pemenang berlangsung secara virtual melalui aplikasi zoom pada Rabu (23/12).

Pada kesempatan wawancara, Selasa (29/12) bersama Munawwara Ildana selaku penggagas ide menjelaskan timnya mengusung tema penelitian pengembangan masyarakat pesisir melalui pengaplikasian hydroponics verticulture technology anti malnutrition di Pulau Tanakeke, Sulawesi Selatan.

Ide ini menawarkan solusi berupa teknologi hidroponik dengan metode nutrient film technique. Tujuannya agar masyarakat pesisir yang jarang mengkonsumsi sayur-sayuran karena kondisi lingkungan yang tidak mendukung dapat terbantu. Inovasi tersebut menghadirkan solusi yang murah, mudah, dan bermanfaat guna meningkatkan konsumsi masyarakat pesisir akan sayuran. Hal ini dapat membantu menekan kasus malnutrisi sejak dini.

“Kami mengikuti I2ASPO ini sebagai langkah untuk tetap produktif selama pandemi. Kami mencoba adu ide bersama 240 tim dari 20 negara. Di samping itu, urgensi permasalahan yang terjadi di masyarakat pesisir khususnya di Pulau Tanakeke menjadi salah satu perhatian kami,” jelas Munawwara.

Melalui kegiatan ini, diharapkan elaborasi ide solutif untuk mengatasi masalah malnutrisi yang terjadi di Pulau Tanakeke dengan inovasi hidroponik vertikultur dapat segera terealisasi. Hal ini akan berpengaruh pada masalah malnutrisi akibat kurangnya konsumsi sayuran di Pulau Tanakeke dapat diminimalisir dari sekarang. Dukungan dari berbagai stakeholders juga sangat diperlukan.

Indonesia International Applied Science Olympiad (I2ASPO) merupakan kompetisis tahunan yang diselenggarakan oleh Indonesian Young Scientist Association. Ajang ini mengundang generasi muda dari berbagai negara untuk membuat project kreatif dan bermanfaat bagi banyak orang.

Tahun ini, I2ASPO mengusung tema yang berkaitan dengan Covid-19, Waste Treatment, Disability Aids, Renewable Energy, Entrepreneur, Innovative Social Sciences, Applied Physics and Engineering, Environmental Science, IT and Robotics, and Applied Life Science yang diikuti oleh 240 tim dari 20 negara.

“Kami mengharapkan agar hasil karya kami dapat memberi inspirasi dan langkah awal agar lebih banyak yang peduli pada kesehatan masyarakat, utamanya masyarakat pesisir. Kami harap agar kedepannya, lebih banyak lagi mahasiswa Unhas yang meraih prestasi lebih tinggi,” tutup Munawwara.
