KATACARA, MAKASSAR– Delegasi Universitas Hasanuddin yang tergabung dalam Forum Studi Ilmiah (Fosil) Fakultas Peternakan berhasil meraih medali emas dalam ajang Indonesia International Applied Science Project Olympiad (I2ASPO). Pengumuman pemenang berlangsung secara virtual melalui aplikasi zoom pada Kamis (24/12).

Melalui wawancara, Senin (28/12) bersama Muhammad Dzariyat Zulfinas selaku ketua tim menjelaskan kompetisi sains nasional ini diselenggarakan oleh IYSA (Indonesian Young Scientific Association), diikuti peserta dari berbagai negara.

Pada kompetisi ini, Dzariyat beserta tim mempresentasikan proyek penelitian yang mengangkat tema applied life science dengan judul “Detection of Oxytetracycline Antibiotic Residues in Cow’s Milk with Colorimetric Method”.

Penelitian diangkat dari permasalahan residu dalam susu masih menjadi penghambat bagi industri pengolahan susu dan tentunya berbahaya bagi konsumen.

“Kami menghadirkan inovasi yang dapat mendeteksi residu tersebut dengan cepat, mudah, dan murah. Olehnya itu, kami berharap bahwa gagasan yang telah tim wujudkan dengan melakukan penelitian dapat bermanfaat di masyarakat karena ini merupakan salah satu tujuan yang ingin dicapai setelah mengikut kegiatan ini,” jelas Dzariyat.

Dzariyat menuturkan dirinya beserta tim mengikuti lomba I2ASPO sebagai salah satu media pengembangan keilmuan dengan skala internasional. Mengingat selama ini hanya sering mengikuti lomba tingkat nasional. I2ASPO dimanfaatkan untuk mengukur kemampuan diri sekaligus wadah menyalurkan gagasan.

Selama persiapan mengikuti kegiatan, Dzariyat menyebutkan beberapa hambatan yang dirasakan oleh tim. Akan tetapi, berkat dukungan dari pihak fakultas dan UKM Forum Studi Ilmiah (Fosil) sehingga hambatan tersebut tidak berdampak signifikan terhadap persiapan lomba.

“Terima kasih kepada seluruh pihak yang telah memberikan doa dan dukungan kepada kami. Kami berharap, inovasi yang kami paparkan dapat terealisasi dengan baik. Prestasi ini akan terus kami tingkatkan sebagai bentuk kontribusi kepada almamater dan masyarakat,” tutup Dzariyat.
