KATACARA, MAJENE, – Dua gempa berkekuatan cukup besar mengguncang Mamuju dan Majene, Sulawesi Barat pada dua hari beruntun.

Gempa pertama terjadi pada Kamis (14/1/2021) pukul 14.35 WITA dengan kekuatan 5,9 SR. Lalu gempa dengan kekuatan yang lebih besar yakni 6.2 SR kembali terjadi keesokan harinya, yakni pada 15 Januari 2021 pukul 02.28 WITA. Selain berkekuatan cukup tinggi, gempa ini telah menyebabkan banyak kerusakan baik fasilitas umum, ibadah dan rumah warga hingga jatuhnya korban jiwa akibat tertimpa material yang ambruk saat gempa.

Menurut Kepala Pelaksana Harian Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) Sulawesi Barat Darno Majid melalui releasenya menyebutkan, hingga saat ini ada 27 warga yang meninggal akibat gempa yang berpusat di Kabupaten Majene, pada Jumat (15/01/2021). Dengan rincian 27 orang yang meninggal, terdapat 18 orang meninggal di Kabupaten Mamuju, sedangkan 9 orang lainnya meninggal di Kabupaten Majene.

Sejumlah relawan berdatangan ke wilayah Majene, Sulawesi Barat, salah satunya Dompet Dhuafa melalui Tim DMC DD dengan menerjunkan empat tim, tim pertama berasal dari Majene Tengah melakukan assemen awal, Tim kedua berasal dari Sulawesi Selatan dengan menempuh jalur darat, tim ketiga dari Jakarta dengan menempuh perjalanan melalui udara dan tiba di Palu untuk melanjutkan melalui jalur darat serta tim yang keempat berangkat dari Kota Pare-pare. Tim ini yang semalam (Sabtu, 16/01) berhasil menembus Kecamatan Malunda, Majene, Sulawesi Barat meskipun kondisi gelap karena listrik padam dan hujan lebat. Saat tiba dilokasi tim langsung membantu warga mendirikan tenda pengungsian dan membagikan makan malam kepada warga. “Sejak tengah malam hingga pagi ini tim DMC DD terus mensisir dan mengevakuasi masyarakat yang terdampak untuk ke pos pengungsian di Kecamatan Malunda, Kabupaten Majene, Sulawesi Barat. Selain itu tim DMC DD yang terdiri dari tim medis memberikan pelayanan kesehatan terutama para lansia maupun ibu hamil yang terdampak gempa,”ujar Rahmat H.M. selaku Pimpinan Dompet Dhuafa Sulsel.

“Bahkan pada pagi ini tim medis DMC DD bersama para relawan berhasil mengevakuasi perempuan yang mengalami pendaharan untuk mendapatkan tindakan lebih lanjut, di lokasi lain tim respon turut serta membantu evakuasi pohon tumbang akibat longsor yang menimbun jalur arah malunda, sebelumnya dari malam hari kami berupaya menembus ke Malunda, Alhamdulillah dari volunteer kami berhasil tembus ke Malunda (pusat gempa) di Mamuju, Sulbar, dan langsung bergabung dengan masyarakat yang mengungsi untuk mendirikan tenda pengungsian dan membagikan makan malam,” tambah Rahmat.
