KATACARA, JAKARTA – Museum memiliki peranan besar bagi sumber pengetahuan dan wawasan. Selain sebagai sarana rekreasi, dengan mengunjungi museum masyarakat juga dapat memiliki referensi visual sekaligus merasakan peristiwa sejarah di masa lalu.

Namun, dalam Rapat Koordinasi Pengelolaan Museum Untuk Generasi Milenial yang dilaksanakan pada tahun 2018 lalu, ditemukan fakta bahwa tingkat kunjungan masyarakat ke museum masih sangat rendah, terutama generasi milenial. Hal ini disebabkan oleh berbagai faktor. Salah satunya adalah masih banyaknya museum yang kurang proaktif dalam menarik minat pengunjung melalui media baru.

Jasmine Rahma Amalia, alumni Program Studi Komunikasi Universitas Pertamina, meneliti fenomena ini dalam beberapa bulan terakhir. Ia mempresentasikan risetnya bertajuk “Tourism in Digital Era: The Influence of Digital Marketing on the Intention to Visit Museum” di ajang The 6th International Conference on Political and Social Sciences yang diselenggarakan Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Politik Universitas Sebelas Maret.

Dalam penelitian pertamanya tersebut, Jasmine memaparkan bahwa saat ini penting bagi museum untuk meningkatkan minat kunjungan masyarakat melalui unggahan informasi dan aktivitas di media sosial serta menguatkan electronic word of mouth (E-WOM). Kedua unsur digital marketing ini, menurut Jasmine telah berhasil dilakukan oleh Museum Bank Indonesia. Atas kegigihannya, penelitian Jasmine memperoleh kesempatan untuk diterbitkan di jurnal internasional terindeks scopus yakni Malaysian Journal of Communication, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

Melalui beragam penelitian terapan seperti yang digagas Jasmine, Universitas Pertamina kembali membuktikan diri sebagai kampus riset. Dalam usia yang masih muda, baru lima tahun, Universitas Pertamina mampu menduduki posisi 19 kampus paling produktif menghasilkan riset di Indonesia. Perguruan tinggi milik Pertamina ini juga bertengger di posisi 74 dari sekitar 3.000 kampus di portal SINTA (Science and Technology Index) milik Kementerian Riset, Teknologi dan Pendidikan Tinggi yang mengukur kinerja iptek universitas di Indonesia.

Selain Jasmine, Ramadani Haris, alumni Program Studi Komunikasi Universitas Pertamina lainnya, juga mendapat kesempatan untuk mempresentasikan penelitiannya yang berjudul “Strategi Media Relations di Marketing Operation Region VII PT Pertamina (Persero)” dalam kegiatan Konferensi Media Digital (KOMEDI) 2020 yang diselenggarakan oleh Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Politik UPN Veteran Jawa Timur.

Dalam penelitiannya, Ramadani menemukan beragam kegiatan hubungan media yang dilaksanakan Fungsi Komunikasi dan CSR Pertamina MOR VII, berhasil mempertahankan dan meningkatkan citra perusahaan yang positif di masyarakat.

Keberhasilan kedua alumni tersebut tentu tidak terlepas dari bimbingan para dosen di Program Studi Komunikasi Universitas Pertamina. Ita Musfirowati Hanika, S.A.P, M.I.Kom, AMIPR, selaku dosen pembimbing kedua alumni mengatakan bahwa masa kini, metode pembelajaran idealnya harus bisa memotivasi para mahasiswa untuk menghasilkan penelitian terapan. “Tujuannya agar mahasiswa dapat belajar memecahkan masalah praktis sehingga mereka lebih siap untuk terjun di dunia industri,” tutupnya.***
