KATACARA, JAKARTA, – Peningkatan jumlah penduduk dan perkembangan industri di Indonesia setiap tahunnya, membuat kebutuhan terhadap bahan bakar minyak (BBM) semakin meningkat. Menurut Kementerian Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM), pada tahun 2021, konsumsi BBM nasional diperkirakan mencapai 75,27 juta kilo liter (kL).

Dewan Energi Nasional dalam Outlook Energi Indonesia pada tahun 2016, memprediksikan kebutuhan energi Indonesia pada tahun 2025 akan mencapai 238,8 juta ton setara minyak (Tonne of Oil Equivalent/TOE) dengan skenario Business as Usual (BaU). Jumlah ini diproyeksikan akan meningkat menjadi 682,3 juta TOE pada tahun 2050 mendatang, dengan asumsi rata-rata pertumbuhan kebutuhan energi pada periode 2015-2050 di angka 4,9% per tahun.

Untuk mencukupi kebutuhan ini, Pemerintah Indonesia terus berupaya mencari alternatif sumber energi baru dan terbarukan (EBT). Salah satu EBT paling potensial untuk dikembangkan di Indonesia adalah energi yang berasal dari panas bumi (geothermal). Badan Geologi mencatat, pada Desember 2019 potensi energi geothermal di Indonesia mencapai 23,9 Gigawatt (GW). Namun, potensi ini baru dimanfaatkan sebesar 8,9%. Padahal, sebaran sumber energi geothermal di Indonesia hampir merata. Ditemukan lebih dari 300 titik potensi geothermal dari Sabang sampai Merauke.

Sebagai kampus yang memfokuskan diri pada pengembangan bisnis dan teknologi energi, Universitas Pertamina menjawab tantangan energi dengan menghadirkan mata kuliah yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan industri, khususnya industri energi. Para Mahasiswa di Fakultas Teknologi Eksplorasi dan Produksi misalnya, mendapatkan mata kuliah terkait pengembangan energi geothermal. Mata kuliah ini mengantarkan para mahasiswa untuk menyabet juara 1 di ajang Oil and Gas Intellectual Parade (OGIP) yang diselenggarakan oleh UPN Veteran Yogyakarta, dalam kategori Geothermal Study Case Competition.

Tim yang menamai diri mereka LATERAL, mengajukan gagasan untuk pengembangan lapangan geothermal dengan mekanisme tiga sumur eksplorasi dan empat sumur deliniasi menggunakan drilling jenis slim-hole. Dies Valley, ketua tim, dalam wawancara daring, Minggu (18/4), mengatakan bahwa dalam tahap pengembangan ke depan, lapangan eksplorasi tersebut dapat memiliki 21 sumur produksi dan tujuh sumur injeksi. “Hasil perhitungan keekonomian proyek selama 30 tahun yang telah disusun oleh tim, menunjukkan bahwa dengan biaya Capital Investment Cost sebesar 361,500,000 USD proyek akan menghasilkan Internal Rate of Return (IRR) sebesar 8,324%,” lanjutnya.

Bersama anggota tim lainnya, M. Fadil Akhwan, dan Gadis Wahyu Ramadhani, Dies mengungkapkan bahwa penting untuk melakukan sosial dan edukasi kepada masyarakat di sekitar lokasi proyek mengenai potensi energi geothermal. Sumber EBT ini, lanjutnya, masih belum banyak diketahui oleh masyarakat. Tidak lupa, tim juga mempertimbangkan aspek safety. Proyek dijalankan dengan mematuhi peraturan pemerintah, serta unsur ramah lingkungan.

Juara 2 di ajang yang sama dengan kategori yang sama, juga diraih oleh tim dari Universitas Pertamina. Tim beranggotakan Arif Aulia Fikri, Galih Bayu Permadi, dan M. Alpex Firstonda tersebut menamai diri mereka CONDENSATE. Galih, ketua tim, menyebutkan bahwa mereka memiliki dua skema dalam menyelesaikan kasus geothermal yang diberikan. “Kami mengusulkan pemboran eksplorasi untuk produksi dan pemboran eksplorasi untuk delineasi dengan menggunakan sumur kombinasi, yakni slim-hole dan standard-hole. Menurut tim, ini adalah strategi terbaik untuk menghasilkan energi dengan jumlah maksimum,” sambungnya.

Bagi kedua tim, kemenangan di ajang bergengsi tersebut bukan hanya sebuah prestasi yang membanggakan. Menurut Galih misalnya, pengaplikasian pembelajaran di kelas dalam bentuk studi kasus seperti ini dapat lebih mempersiapkan diri mereka untuk terjun ke dunia industri nantinya. “Selain pembelajaran di kelas dan di laboratorium, kami juga sering melakukan kunjungan lapangan baik ke lokasi proyek maupun ke industri. Saya pribadi, merasa lebih siap kerja karena ilmu yang didapat bukan hanya sebatas teori tetapi juga praktek bahkan melihat kondisi nyata yang terjadi di industri energi,” ungkapnya.

Saat ini, kampus milik PT Pertamina (Persero) tersebut sedang membuka pendaftaran Seleksi Nilai Rapor untuk Tahun Akademik 2021/2022. Pendaftaran telah dibuka sejak tanggal 23 Maret hingga 30 April 2021 mendatang. Seleksi ini merupakan seleksi tanpa tes. Siswa-siswi dapat memilih empat program studi yang ada di Universitas Pertamina, disesuaikan dengan kelompok ujian dan latar belakang pendidikan SMA/sederajat yang tengah ditempuh. Seleksi Nilai Rapor dapat diikuti oleh siswa SMA/sederajat lulusan tahun 2020 dan 2021.

Bagi siswa SMA/sederajat lulusan tahun 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 dan 2021 bisa juga mendaftar melalui jalur Ujian Masuk (UM) Online (daring). Pendaftaran untuk UM Online telah dibuka sejak tanggal 15 Maret hingga 22 April 2021. Ujian akan dilaksanakan pada hari Sabtu, 24 April 2021 secara daring (online).
